Like human, dog also suffer from Urinary bladder stone. In dog, stone is mainly made up of calcium salt.
History
A female Labrador dog dribbling urine from past 20 days.
Diagnosis
USG show stone in bladder.
Surgery
Pre-medication for surgery is
- Atropine sulphate
- Xylazine
- Ketamine/diazepam
- Intacef tazo
- Tranexamic acid/ethamsylate
- Dexamethasone (if needed)
Procedure
- Clean the site with scrub and betadine
- Incision at site
- Cut skin, sub-cutaneous tissue, muscle, fat
- Incision to bladder wall
- Remove stone
- Wash with NS
- Place catheter
- Suture the tissues ( Bladder, muscle with sub-cutaneous and skin suture)
- bladder suture is Cushing and simple continous, in muscle and sub-cutaneous tissue pattern is subcuticular, in skin simple continous pattern.

Catheter remove after 7 day.
